PONY CLUB
Where young riders grow.
As an official United States Pony Clubs Riding Center, Lake Oconee Equestrian gives young riders the opportunity to learn about horses from the ground up. Through mounted and unmounted instruction, members develop riding skills, learn to care for and understand horses, and build confidence, responsibility, and independence along the way.
Pony Club brings that learning into a community of young riders who share the same love of horses.
THE PROGRAM
Learning goes beyond the ride.
Pony Club combines time in the saddle with the knowledge that makes a well-rounded horseperson. Members learn through hands-on experience with horse care, safety, equipment, riding skills, and the responsibilities that come with life around horses.
MEMBERSHIP
Become part of Pony Club.
Participation includes membership with both Lake Oconee Equestrian’s Riding Center and the United States Pony Clubs. Lake Oconee Equestrian membership includes twice-monthly Pony Club sessions and use of LOE horses during the program.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A few things to know.

Pony Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Sessions are approximately one hour and include both mounted and unmounted instruction.

No. As a United States Pony Clubs Riding Center, Lake Oconee Equestrian provides horses for members to use during Pony Club sessions.

No. Riders of varying experience levels are welcome, and instruction is designed to help each member continue developing their skills and knowledge.

Pony Club at Lake Oconee Equestrian is open to riders ages 8 and older.

We understand that families have other commitments. While regular participation helps riders get the most from the program, missing an occasional session is okay.

Yes. Pony Club is an ongoing membership and learning program rather than a seasonal session or short-term class.

Yes. Pony Club includes the two monthly Pony Club sessions. Riders interested in additional time in the saddle can also take private lessons at Lake Oconee Equestrian.

Yes. Families interested in Pony Club are welcome to schedule a visit to Lake Oconee Equestrian before registering.
